the British colonial rule brought the Christian missionaries to Indian country side ,as a result they were found oppressive over the rural people. the missionaries forced the poor people to change their religion from Hinduism to Christianity and drink liquor but this was strictly prohibited by Indian culture. the land collectivisation by the missionaries made the people angry.the British rulers made the tribals work for free and accept their monopoly rule. this ruined the self respect if tribals and which resulted in the clash between tribals and British army.
