It's false.

Value of every observation in the data set is not taken into account when median is calculated .

If you have a data , where The extreme values are too far from the middle values, The measure of median will give no idea about the data functionality .

So, Median is useful only when you just need the middle value into account, Mean will be good if you want extreme values are also to be accounted.

You can say that, Mean is the central tendency which can be used when value of every observation in the data is to be taken into account

Therefore, The above statement is false.

Hi ,

It is false .

Reason :

The mean is the most frequently used

measure of central tendency because it

takes into account of all observations, and

lies between the extremes , i.e ., the largest

and the smallest observations of the data.

Where individual observations are not

important, especially extreme values ,and

we wish to find out a ' typical ' observation,

the median is more appropriate.

I hope this helps you.
