Value of x in pair of linear equations 36x + 24y = 702 and 24x + 36y = 558 is

36x+24y=702 and 24x+36y=558
divide both by 6
6x+4y=117 and 4x+6y=93

6(6x+4y)=117(6).......
4(4x+6y)=93(4).....

36x+24y=702.....(1)
16x+24y=372......(2)

subtract 2 from 1
20x+0y=330
20x=330
x= $\frac{330}{20}$

x=33/2
