Games and sports in general description are a means of mental and physical growth. While maintaining a mental balance in the midst of hopes and despair, they make one learn to tackle the tough situations and develop a sense of friendliness and team spirit.

As most of the sports include outdoor activities, they are opposed to Physical strength and vigour and a source to discard tiredness and lethargy. While improving the blood circulation and checking one's physical well being, they are an effective medium to fight monotony and loneliness.

Sports and games not only improve one's capability, but also improve the efficiency. Sports even form an integral part of education.
Keeping their value in life, children are taught some sorts of games in the very early stage in school. These days' sports are a customary part of academic curricula. Academic learning and sports education are, rather complementary to each other. While total education makes full development of the over-all personality of a pupil possible , he learns the qualities of leadership, tolerance, sharing and team spirit from sports.

But unfortunately, despite the inclusion of physical education program, the present-day system of education lays too much stress on mental development, pays only virtual sympathy to moral enrichment and completely neglects physical well- being of a student.
Consequently , often the growing hordes of graduates , post - graduates and diversified professionals appear with frail body and poor physique.

The sport activities generally lay emphasis on skill development, teamwork, personal improvement and social interaction skills, and participation. Hence , for an all round development of a child, the curriculum should devote considerable time to sports and games and health education. While some of the boards like CBSE board, have already taken an initiative and made the sports education a compulsory subject up to +2 level. But the irony lies in the fact that the subject has still not get seriousness and importance. Sports education needs to be introduced with all preserverance, because mental and moral development is just not possible without physical development. We must remember that ' a sound mind dwells only in a sound body'.

Practicing Sport on a regular basis could even aid in keeping the most prevalent diseases like obesity; which even lead to diseases like heart attack, diabetes and stroke, far away from life. With regular outdoor play, the main health benefit that we could earn is the reduction of bad cholesterol and the increasing of good cholesterol in our body.

The culture and civilization have contributed massively in games and sports. That is the reason why different games are famous in different countries. Even one cannot specify particular time when the sports initiated as they have been a part of men's everyday life ever since he learnt to struggle for his physical needs, e.g., use of sticks, bows, and arrows to satisfy his stomach. Eventually , these activities gave birth to competitive sports. People learnt from each other's culture and embodied different spots in their culture. Thus, the common games in varied culture gave a common platform to be shared globally.

Thereby, like everything else that societies have invented, sports evolved over time.
It has led to a new world of sports; where people fall frenzy over myriad games including football, cricket, hockey, Polo and many others all over the world.

A healthy and strong body is not possible without sports. Life is a struggle and the person with a healthy and strong body alone can face it vehemently. The development of being physically and mentally fit is an essential factor to live a dynamic, prosperous and healthy life. All our physical enjoyments, and to some extent, even mental reaction , depend upon our body . Besides promoting health and strength, sports also strengthen the power of endurance and promote discipline and enthusiasm and Team Spirit.

So sports are not only the recreation source, but also indispensable for an all round development of the personality . The famous saying" The battle of Waterloo was won on the playgrounds of Eton " , aptly concludes up, the vitality of sports in life.

I hope this helps u dear friend .

                                    Games and Sports in Life

"Sports do not build character, they reveal it"  - John Wooden

Sports and games are essential parts of our life. They are physical and mental health regulators which help in developing many skills in our own mind. Many people consider it to be a part of leisure time and is not important, but they prove wrong here.

Sports in a way are a great source of knowledge of what life is. We develop skills like Leadership, Teamwork, Patience, Competitiveness and Determination of Success. These are some of the good and must qualities that a person must have in his/her own life.

Sports are generally played for fitness, passion and success.  As we know the famous quote: "No pain, No gain". Without sports we have no gain as we experience no pain in our daily work. The sports help us a lot in our daily life.

  • Keeps us mentally and physically fit
  • Relaxes our mind
  • Makes us feel happy and excited
  • Develop consciousness about health
  • Develops motivation towards our goals

" The Pain you experience today will be the success you enjoy tomorrow"

So feel the pain and et motivated by self.

Relaxing everyday by playing sports each day can help us in a very effective manner in studying key concepts which were hard earlier. Playing sports circulates large amount of oxygen inside which keeps our brain active and helps in studying effectively.

Sports also can earn you fame and pride all across the globe. Young minds in sports can also earn you great recognition all across the country.

E.g. Praggnanandhaa ( Young Chess GrandMaster )

People who succeeded both in sports as well as studies are great in managing life. One of the South Indian Table Tennis Wizard : G Sathiyan is a pride of India who was recently honoured with Arjuna Award.

These people also have created history in sports and shined like stars in the sky. So if they can achieve this why can't we ?

Therefore I conclude that sports is a must and should be followed by everyone to achieve success in reaching great heights.

Thank you :)
