Question :- vardan sold 25kg of wheat at 10% loss and 25 kg of wheat at 20% profit. If he brought 50 kg of wheat at 1250 ,find overall gain or loss %. also find price per kg of wheat if he wants to make overall profit of 20%. ?

Solution :-

→ CP of 50 kg wheat = Rs.1250 .

→ CP of 1 kg wheat = (1250/50) = Rs.25

→ CP of 25 kg wheat = 25 * 25 = Rs.625

Now,

→ CP of 25 kg wheat = Rs.625

→ Loss % = 10%

→ SP of 25 kg wheat = CP * (100 - Loss%) / 100 = 625 * (100 - 10) / 100 = 625 * 90 / 100 = Rs.562.5

Also,

CP of 25 kg wheat = Rs.625

→ Profit % = 20%

→ SP of 25 kg wheat = CP * (100 + Profit%) / 100 = 625 * (100 + 20) / 100 = 625 * 120 / 100 = Rs.750

So,

→ Total SP of 50 kg wheat = 562.5 + 750 = Rs.1312.5

→ Total CP of 50 kg wheat = Rs.1250

Therefore,

All over gain = SP - CP = 1312.5 - 1250 = Rs.62.5

→ gain % = (gain in Rs. * 100) / CP

→ gain % = (62.5 * 100) / 1250

→ gain % = 5% (Ans.)

Also,

→ CP of 50 kg wheat = Rs.1250

→ overall profit = 20%

→ SP = CP * (100 + Profit%) / 100 = 1250 * (100 + 20) / 100 = 1250 * 120 / 100 = Rs.1500

Hence,

SP of 50 kg wheat = Rs.1500

→ SP of 1 kg wheat = (1500/50) = Rs.30 (Ans.)
