a)sample A - metal carbonate or metal hydrogen carbonate

gasX - carbon dioxide

b)metal carbonate/hydrogen carbonate +acid gives salt ,water , carbon dioxide

c) it is due to the formation of insoluble carbonates

ca(oh)2( lime water)+co2 gives caco3 + water

( calcium carbonate) which is insoluble
