vehicles carring highly inflammable materials have metallic chains touching the ground because during motion, the body of the vehicles and inflammable materials get charged due to air friction, which is appear in between them.this charge flows to earth through the metallic chain and save the vehicle from explosion.

Answer:

Vehicles carrying inflammable materials usually have metallic ropes touching the ground during the motion of the vehicle because the body of the vehicle in motion is charged due to air friction.

If the charge accumulation is large, it can produce a spark and the inflammable material may catch fire.

To prevent this mis-happening metallic ropes are hung so that any charge accumulated on the vehicle leaks to the earth.
