(a+b)2=(a+b) * (a+b)
= a2+ab+ba+b2.
=a2+b2+2ab

(a+b)²=a²+b²+2ab
taking LHS,
(a+b)²
=(2+4)²
=(6)²
=36
now taking RHS,
a²+b²+2ab
=(2)²+(4)²+2×2×4
=4+16+16
=36

LHS = RHS
verified.
