This book was published when Helen was only 22,portrays the wild child who is locked in the dark and silent prison of her own body. With an extraordinary immediacy,Keller reveals her frustrations and rage, and take the reader on the unforgettable journey of her education and breakthrough into the world of communication.
From the moment she recognizes the word "W-A-T-E-R",when her teacher,Miss Anne Mansfield Sullivan, she shares her triumph as "That living word awakened my soul, gave it light, hope, joy, set it free!"This story compells the reader to imagine whatever they read and takes the reader to this completely imaginary world. This book is a 'must read' for people of all age groups.

I have read the book. I am writing my view and also some people's view too! Many liked the story because it was a unique life story and was beautifully written by Helen Keller at her young age. It inspired many because she achieved a lot and now she became a famous personality we all learn about, although she was both blind and deaf. It was really a heart touching story too. Her passion for books and learning made her great. It inculcates a very good moral value too! We should never be unhappy with our disability but we should change our disability in a positive way to achieve more and do wonders in our life. Her ability to change her disability into her strength inspired me! So everyone please read the book. Hope this helps!
