An election divisional office or legislative district is called as a voting district by Indian Election Commission. Indian Census also is known as a constituency,  ward, division, electoral area,  is a territory subdivision for electing members to a legislative body.

A voting district is an area which is represented by a seat or the multiple numbers of legislative body seats like that of parliament.In elections, voters registered in a particular voting district can exclusively vote for candidates running for an office in that particular district.
