Answer:

The speaker has taken a job to knock down walls. These walls not only surround the houses but also barricade the villages from the invasion of their enemies. These walls are made by the orders of the ancestors, the old people of that time. The speaker finds himself thinking about these walls and how they are treated as a defence. He wants to demolish these walls in human bonds and in human minds. And this will take a certain amount of time and dedication. The speaker hopes that there will be new and beautiful houses once the walls are down. Those who have not the heart to let people in, to let the space grow, are welcomed to face their death. The speaker will sings prayer for them and be done with it.
