Water in a canal is 6m wide and 1.5m deep is flowing at a speed of 4km/hr . How much area will it irrigate in 10mins , if 8cm of standing water is needed for irrigation

l=400/60

area irrigated in 1 min. =400/60*6*1.5
area irrigated in 10min=above solution*10

Step-by-step explanation:

water flowing in 1 hr=4 km.                                

water  flowing in 60 min=4000 m

water flowing in 1 min=4000/60

                                   =200/3 m

water flowing in 10 min=200*10/3

                                     =2000/3 m

Now, volume of water flows in 10 min=6*1.5*2000/3

                                                              =6000 m³

∴ Area it will irrigate=6000 m³/(8/100) m

                                 =    75000 m³.
