The force of attraction of particles in water is not so strong as compared to iron almirah. The particles in water are little apart whereas in almirah the particles are tightly packed. These all are reasons due to which water is liquid in room temperature but iron almirah is solid in room temperature.

1 Answers. (a) Water at room temperature is a liquid, because at room temperature, water exits as liquid. ... (b) An iron almirah is a solid at room temperature, because he melting point of iron is very high, 2860°C. At any temperature below this and also at room temperature, iron exists as solid.
