it is because water helps for a better burning process because of the presence of oxygen but other gas like carbon dioxide forms a layer on the fire stopping it plz mark brainliest

because when water is added then the oxygen present in it start reacting with this and we know that in the presence of oxygen the fire burn more efficiently
