We can easily move our hand in air and not through solid because air less force of attraction is between the molecules in air . But, in solid there is more force of attraction between molecules. So, it becomes harder to move our hand through the solid and may also get hurt.

Yes we cannot because In solid the intermolecular forces of attraction is greater in molecules than any matter,ex - wood,if you want to move your hand through wood then you need a karate master, but,wait,how could be able to move our hand in air??,it is simple because in air there is no intermolecular forces of attraction
