According to this line, the earth is not our asset but our liability which we have to return after some years to our children.
But we aren't understanding this! We are using and overusing and misusing the earth which is directly false!
As asked by Brandt Commission ' Are we to leave our successors this hot planet of advancing deserts, impoverished landscapes and ailing planet?'
This is the biggest proof that we are not taking care of this borrowed earth. Hence the results will be that the fisheries collapse, forests disappear, grasslands are converted into barren wastelands and cropland deteriorate.

For our children, if we do not preserve fossil fuels.., a time may come when firewood will be too expensive that the fire below the pot is more costly than the food inside this!

Hope u liked and u can also tell something about extinction of species which the children soon cannot see! as per your choice

The sentence basically means that human beings are deploying the resources provided to them by the mother earth..... With overutilisation of the resources, they will not be available for future generations and that is why the sentence says we have not inherited the Earth from our forefathers we have borrowed it from our children which means we have to conserve this Mother Earth for our children can utilise it properly...... And so many generations can enjoy this beautiful side of earth...
