an acid is an aqueous solution with some particular chemical properties...its has sour taste...its turns blue litmus paper red...eg=> carbonic acid, hydrochloric acid..sulphuric acid..

We all know acids are sour in taste, turns blue litmus red.
An acid is a substance that dissociates or ionises on dissolving in water to produce Hydrogen ions ( H+ ions)
Examples :
HCl hydrochloric acid
H2SO4 Sulphuric acid
HNO3 Nitric acid
