ATOMS:-

✴Atom, smallest unit into which matter can be divided and retain the characteristic of an element.

In short-

ATOM : The smallest particle of an element which may or may not have independent existence is called atom.

✴Atoms are extremely small; typical sizes are around 100 picometers.

✴There are three fundamental particular particles of atom i.e

✔ ELECTRON (-ve)

✔ PROTON (+ ve)

✔ NEUTRON ( no charge)

✴ ELECTRON was discovered by J.J Thomson

✴ PROTON was discovered by Goldstein

✴ NEUTRON was discovered by Chadwick.
