Ionic bond is formed by the transfer of electrons from one atom to another atom. It is also known as electrovalent bond. Occurs between two non-metals. They have low boiling and melting points.

Answer:

covalent compounds are the compounds formed by the sharing of electrons between non metals and non metals

they are different from ionic compounds as there is tranfer of electrons between metals and metals or metals and non metals....also they high melting and boiling point whereas covalent compounds do not have...

characteristics..

they are present in the. form of gases or liquid

they are soluble in inorganic compounds but insoluble in organic compounds

they have low boiling and melting point

hope it helps you...
