Fats are a type of lipid, a fatty substance that does not dissolve in water.

Fats are the source of energy.

Fats are three types. They are,
1. Saturated Fats

2.Trans Fats

3. Unsaturated Fats

Saturated Fats :

Saturated Fats are solid at room temperature. Mostly in animal foods such as milk, cheese, and meat. Also in tropical oils, such as coconut oil, palm oil, cocoa butter.

Trans Fats :

Trans Fats are changed by a process called hydrogenation. It found in margarine, salad dressings, and foods made with shortening and partially hydrogenated oils.

Unsaturated Fats :

Unsaturated Fats are two types. They are, 1. Monounsaturated Fat (eg: Olive Oil).

2. Polyunsaturated Fat(Omega 6: Vegetable oils(soybean, safflower, sunflower, corn, cotten seed, peanut, canola) and omega -3 (fish oils)).
