the dead remains of plants and animals under the earths crust are known as fossil fuels

TWO METHODS TO STUDY THE AGE OF FOSSIL FUELS

1.if we dig into the earth and start finding fossils, it is resonable to suppose that the fossils we find closer to the surface are more recent than we find in deeper layers

2.the second way of dating fossil fuels is by detecting the ratios of different isotopes of the same element in the fossil material
