Hormones are chemicals substances secreted by the endocrine glands. Endocrine glands secrete hormone in small amount. It coordinate the activities of all living organisms and also their growth. They are secreted in one part of the body and carried by the blood to another part where they stimulate or inhibit specific physiological processes.
Hormones are called chemical messengers because the hormones have their effect at the sites different from the sites where they are made. Hormone is produced in one part of the body but it acts on some other parts of body.
