what are importance of tides?

the importance of tides are:-
1) Help in navigation
2) Raise the water level close to shores which helps the ships to arrive at the harbour more easily.
3) Help in fishing. More fish come closer to the shores during high tides. This enables fishermen to get a plentiful catch.
