Involuntary muscles are also called as the Unstriped or non-striated muscles. These muscles can be defined as the muscles that functions or contracts without conscious control and are controlled by the.autonomic nervous system.

Involuntary muscles are uninucleate, small and spindle-shaped, found in the muscles of abdominal regions, cardiac muscles, locomotory muscles, middle ear muscles, and the diaphragm. Compared to voluntary muscles, the involuntary muscles contraction is slow and rhythmic. Cardiac Muscles, Smooth Muscles, and Skeletal Muscles are examples of Involuntary Muscles.
