Heya!

Isobars are those elements having the same masses but different atomic numbers.

Isotopes are those elements having same atomic number but different masses.

Hope it helps!

Answer:

Isotopes: Elements which have the same atomic number with same number of protons but having different number of neutrons are called isotopes.

Element can have isotopes according to their abundance in Earth.

Isotopes differ only in neutron number due to which their chemical property remains unchanged while physical properties change.

E.g. Carbon 12 and Carbon 14 are isotopes of Carbon which differ from each other by 2 neutrons. Carbon 14 is radioactive due to which it's abundance is limited in quantity.

Isobars: Elements having same mass number but different atomic number are called isobars. They also differ by number of neutrons present in the nucleus.

They can have both varying physical as well as chemical properties.

E.g. Isobar of Argon and Calcium have same atomic mass of 40 u
