Linguistic can be defined as the states which are divided on the basis of language.

EXPLANATION:

India is a multilingual county with many linguistics states. In India the basis of the division of states was based on the recommendation of the first State Reorganization Commission formed in the 1950s.

It was argued, behind that it was said in the freedom movement, in democracy, the administration should work in the language of common people, so that the administration could come closer to the people.
