Longitudinal waves

Longitudinal waves are the waves in which the particle of the wave or medium vibrates in the direction of the wave propagation.

Transverse waves

Transverse waves are the waves in which the particle of the medium vibrate in the direction perpendicular to the direction of the wave propagation.
