A set of four numbers i.e . n,l,m&s which describe all the properties of electron in an atom are called quantum no.

Quantum number of the electrons are the number which used to indicate shell,subshell,orbital and spin of the electrons.

Types of QUANTUM NUMBER :-

  • Principal quantum no.(n) {1,2,3…}
  • Azimuthal or subsidiary qn no.(l) {0,1,…(n-1)}
  • Magnetic qn no.(m) {-1….0….+1}
  • Spin qn no.(+,-1/2)
