Answer:

here is your answer::::

Explanation:

some elements have one or more and stable isotope. these unstable isotopes decay emitting Alpha particles or beta particles along with Gamma Rays such isotopes are card radioisotopes.

for example c14 is a radioactive isotope of carbon

APPLICATION OF RADIOACTIVE ISOTOPES:

1} Cobalt-60:  Cobalt therapy is the medical use of gamma rays from the radioisotope cobalt-60 to treat conditions such as cancer.Beginning in the 1950s, cobalt-60 was widely used in external beam radiotherapy (teletherapy) machines, which produced a beam of gamma rays which was directed into the patient's body to kill tumor tissue.

2} Uranium-235: In a nuclear reactor the uranium fuel is assembled in such a way that a controlled fission chain reaction can be achieved. The heat created by splitting the U-235 atoms is then used to make steam which spins a turbine to drive a generator, producing electricity.
