Saline-Alkali Soils: Saline-alkali soils are Alkali soils that have a high percentage of soluble salts in them.

These are basically a crossover between Alkali Soils and Saline soils.

They can be characterized by pH value below 9.5 and the sodium content available for exchange in excess of 15.

Another characteristic that differentiates Saline-Alkali soil is that it needs to have an Alkalinity of more than 1.4 meq for every one hundred grams of soil.
