mitosis is a equational division.it usually results in the production of diploid daughter cells with identical genetic composition.
The growth of multicellular organisms is due to mitosis,in animal it is usually restricted to diploid cells only; however,in plants haploid cells also divide by mitosis

\huge{ Growth }

Mitosis is essential for the growtg and development of multicellular organisms. A fertilized egg develops into an embryo and then into an adult by repeated mitotic divisions.

\huge{ Cell size }

Mitosia maintains the size of a cell. If a cell becomes large, then it enters into mitosis.

\huge{ Genetic Stability }

Mitosis maintains the same type and number of chromosomes in two daughter cells.

\huge{ Repair }

Mitosis replaces old dead cells by new cells.

\huge{ Reproduction }

Mitosis brings reproduction in unicellular organisms like amoeba, bacteria etc.

\huge{ Healing }

Mitosis produces new cells for healing the wounds and for regeneration.
