When the basic needs of people are not met this kind of situation is called subsistence crisis...It can be due to drought , flood or any other economic factor......

Subsistence crisis is a situation in which basic means of livelihood are endangered.
3 factors are:
1. increase in population of france
2. increased demand of food grains which couldn't be fulfilled
3.as a result the price of bread hiked up and people couldn't buy it.
