WHAT are the Advantages and disadvantages of corrosion

technically speaking corrosion is highly unwanted and has got many disadvantages mainly being weekening of material due to prolonged corrosive action.
Good thing is that corrosion can be controlled by use of proper materials, and maintaining certain conditions.
Advantages of corrosion is that- many people are surviving due to inspection,corrosion control materials, additives, water tratments etc. Many jobs are created and material has to be renewed after corroding badly that gives scope continius demand for materials.
