☆ Migration ☆
It is the seasonal movement of animals in groups . Mainly birds and fish migrate from one Habitat to another for feeding and breeding purposes. Birds migrate due to climatic changes especially for laying eggs at a safer place. Migration animals take place at the same time and at the same place every year for better food and breeding options.
Foe example,
Siberian cranes migrate from Siberia to Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary every year. Similarly, Arctic terns migrates from north pole to South Pole every year .
Some advantages and disadvantages of migration are listed below :-
Advantages :-
Through migration, birds and animals are able to :
● Avoid harsh climatic condition.
● Avoid lack of food during winters.
● Enhance their chances of survival.
Disadvantages :-
Apart from the benefits associated with migration there are numbers of drawbacks too associated to migration. Some of them are :
● Exposure to predators and harsh weather conditions .
● Storms or contrary winds sometimes blow away many species of bird.
