Difference between root and stem from their anatomical structures:

Internal structure of stem:

1)Cuticle is present on the epidermis
2)Stem hair is multicellular
3)Stomata are usually present in epidermis.
4)Cortex is small.
5)Hypodermis is present in stem
6)Vascular bundles are conjoint type
7)Protoxylem lie towards the periphery. (the xylem arc exarch)

Internal structure of root:

1)Epiblema does not contain cuticle.
2)Root hair is unicellular.
3)Stomata are absent in epiblema.
4)Cortex is large.
5)Hypodermis is absent in root.
6)Vascular bundles are radial type.
7)Protoxylem lie towards the centre, i.e. the xylem are endarch.
