Applications of electroplating. Electroplating is widely used in numerous sectors for coating metal objects with a thin layer of a different metal. The added metal has a desired property the original object lacks and is primarily used to improve corrosion resistance. Chromium plating is a great example.

Applications of electroplating

1. Chromium plating is done on many objects such as car parts, but apps kitchen gas burners, bicycle handlebars ,wheel rims and many others. This is because chromium has a shiny appearance and it does not corrode also it resist scratches.

2. Jwellery makers electroplate silver and gold unless expensive metals this ornaments have the appearance of silver or Gold and are less expensive.

3. Tin cans, used for storing food, are made by electroplating tin on to iron. This is less reactive than iron. Does food does not come into contact with iron and it is protected from getting spoilt.

4.Iron is used in bridges and automobiles to provide strength. However I intends to go ahead and rust. So a, coating of zinc is deposited on Iron to protect it from origin and formation of rust.
