1.The ganga river is divided in to 3 divisions ..they are ..upper gangetic plains ...middle gangetic plains ...lower gangetic plains .

2.it rises in the gangotri glacier in the uutarkashi district of uttaranchal.

it is also known as bagirathi ...Alakananda has its own source in the satopnath glacier near badrinath .....these two meets at devaprayag then it is known as Ganga river .

3. son .kosi.gandak.ramganga.yamuna.gomati where its tributaries ......
