1. The supreme court can abolish any rule or policy passed by the parliament if it feels that it is against the constitutional provisions this is known as judicial review.

2. It is a guardian of our fundamental rights. It can issue an order or writ to enforce fundamental right of people if they are being violated.

3. The supreme court is also known as court of records because all the cases and judgement are maintained and recorded by supreme court. These decisions are used by other courts when they deal with the  same cases.
