demerits of barter system are:-
1 there is sometimes no double co incidence of wants means the good that u want and u have the good for exchange is not needed by someone.
2 common monetary value means that we cannot estimate that how much quantity of a commodity is given or take for the exchange of that commodity.

the demerits of barter system are as follows:-
1) double coincidence of wants is necessary in barter system which posses a problem in the exchange of goods.
2) it is difficult to carry cattle or other goods for exchanging in the marketplace since they are bulky.
