The two factors that determine change in population are birth rate and death rate.  

EXPLANATION:  

Population of the place is a dynamic and it keeps on changing due to several factors deciding it. Two of the most common factors deciding population change is birth rate and death rate. The number of children born per thousand people is called birth rate it adds up to the present population and it can also be related to the fertility of that place.  

Similarly death rate is the number if deaths that has occurred per thousand people, it is subtracted from the present population. Other factors that determine the change in population is migration. When people migrate to a place it is called immigration and it adds up to the present population. Similarly when people leave one place for the other it leads to the decline of population and is called as emigration.
