two immisble liqiuds' mixture is kept in separating funnel. the liquid with lesser density will float while the other one will settle at the bottom. now you use the cork-like structure present to open the nob and release the. liquid from funnel to a beaker. when one of the liquid is poured you can close the nob and keep another beaker to pour the other one.
