Writing manuscripts was a difficult job for the early men as they relied only on the pictorial representation of the living and non living objects.
In fact, separate alphabets had to be taken into account and their usage while constructing the sentence.
In addition, copying manuscript was also filled with errors because in those days press was not used to accomplish the task.
A subtle change makes life difficult for historians.

Answer:
While using manuscripts, historians face many problems, such as handwriting the manuscripts, in which the two copies differed greatly. There were also many changes that took place when they were copied. Historians must therefore read the many versions of the manuscript to know what they actually wrote. There was no printing press to copy it. This is a severe issue because today we rarely discover the author's initial script. We depend entirely on the copies produced by later scribes. As a consequence, historians have to read distinct versions of the same document.
