Financial Independence – Educating any child gives the child financial independence allowing them to lead a life of dignity and self respect. They don’t have to survive on hand me downs and other peoples charity. In India, women are not allowed the freedom to do what they want in life, some families don’t allow the women to work, some families limit their ambition in work place. They often have to move from their hometown after getting married. A educated women has the financial independence and the ability to escape situations where the husband or the family turns abusive.
Equality While I believe we don’t need a reason to treat both the genders equally, sadly that’s not the case in India. So, when a woman starts earning, the family is forced to respect her and give heed to her thoughts because she brings the moolah to the table.
“Educate a girl and you educate the future” When you educate a girl, she will not only be literate, she will educate her family, her parents and the community around her. She will change archaic ideas and opinions and bring change in her surroundings.
