What are the economic outcomes of democracy

Economically democratic country is little backward as compared to a non democratic country. This difference arises because in non democratic country the leader only think of the development of rich people. so the overall economic development increase but the poor people can't develope. But in a democratic country the leader wants to involve all the people of the country, the govt implies taxes from rich people which is used in the development of poor people.
Hence we can say that a democratic country is much better than the non democratic country even if the economic condition is little backward.
