The end product of cellulose digestion in the body of the animal is energy + carbon dioxide + water. Cellulose travels through a long trip of biodegradation with the help of enzymes, converted to sugars (such as glucose), which in turn are burned in the cells and organs to produce energy. The byproducts of the reaction are carbon dioxide and water.
