The four main features of Ganga river are:

1)Ganga river is formed by two rivers:the bagirathi which rises from gangotri glacier and the alaknanda rising from alkapuri glacier.

2)it is the largest basin in India.

3)Ganga has formed large meanders,flood plains and ox-bow lakes.

4)Ganga has formed tremendous potential to generate hydroelectricity and irrigate lands

3 . the yamuna originates from the yamunotri glacier in the Himalayas and joins ganga at Allahabad.
