The limitations are:
1. Electrons revolve around the nucleus in circular orbits.
2. Due to circular motion the electron accelerates.
3.Due to acceleration the electrons will radiate energy and fall into the nucleus.
4.Thus atoms will become highly unstable and will collapse.
hope this helps!!

•Rutherford's model of the atom suggested that the electrons revolve around the nucleus in circular orbits.

•but any partical moving in circular orbit would undergo acceleration. during acceleration the partical would radiate energy.

•so soon the partical would loose all its energy and finally fall into the nucleus.

•if this was so, them atom would be quite unstable and matter would not exist

• but we know that atoms are stable.

•this led to the failure of Rutherford's model of the atom.
