• There's no solar energy available anywhere, any time. Solar energy is only usable for daytime use.
• During rainy and winter seasons, solar energy is usable for reduced duration.
• Solar energy is a distributed energy source. The processes needing more energy can not therefore be controlled with the aid of solar energy. These processes require the concentrated forms of energy.
Example - Coal , diesel , etc.
• The position of the sun in relation to some point on the earth's surface tends to change over time throughout the day. Therefore, for every short period of time the position of the solar devices has to be adjusted so that the devices keep getting the full sunlight.
