Gaddi Shepherds belonged to Himachal Pradesh. They harvested summer and winter crops. They were pastoralists.

Gaddi Shepherds practiced agriculture and pastoralism for livelihood.

CYCLIC MOVEMENT:

They spent their winter in the low hills of Shivalik. By April, they moved north. They would spend their summer in Lahul and Spiti. When the passes were clear, they moved further higher. By September, their return movement will start. On the way back, they harvest the summer crop and sow winter crop. By April, once again the cycle starts.
