Steps of government to improve agriculture are many and are providing benefits at large scale. Here I will discuss some of them .

Let's first know what a farmer needs-

Capital(loans)

Seeds

Fertilisers and soil quality

Market and accessibility

Storage units

Labour(not necessary)

Agricultural implement or tools

And compensation in any emergency

Profit margins

Resources like water and electricity

For these all govt has already introduced several schemes. Some are-

For electricity government introduced Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana

Digital india empowers farmer giving knowledge and help in government services .

In skill india govt also provides vocational education to farmers and also organises several seminars

Pradhan matri fasal bima yojana provides a insurance on crops a farmer grow.

Soil Health Card scheme enables farmer to get their soil checked and modified according to their need and increase production of crop

Pradhan mantri surakshit sadak yojana , and other schemes for improving road has been launched which is providing agriculturist to sell products in distant areas.

Schemes for agriculture marketing-

Government also provide loan and credit to farmers at low interest rate.

Many schemes for storage has been taken into discussion and initiatives

After green revolution government plans for mission flood (milk) and blue revolution

Several other schemes are providing benefit to agriculture

Still the poor condition of agriculture today is because of carelessness and lack of simple maths-

Farmers sells haldi or turmeric 5 -20 Rs per kg and an extract out of it curcumin(4–10 percent ) is sold at Rs 15000–20000 per Kg

These are some of the measures that I know of about.
